Good Design that’s not sublime

There are many ways to design a space, some that are good and some not so good. Some people design just for function while others want art. Sublime design is outstanding art that creates awe and wows people. These designs are what really stands out and is credtited to some of the most famous architects and designers. Sublime design uses all the elements and principles of design while also having that wow factor. Sublime designs tend to excite or suprise the spectator in a good way.

Designs that arent sublime sometimes can just mean the designer did what the client asked for or just designed for function. Some people also just have different styles and taste in design, just like in art. Some people like bold colors while some like neutrals. Just because everyone doesnt agree on something does not mean it is bad.

Good design for some people is very different for others. •For example, bathroom stalls are good design for their function, although they are not very aestically pleasing. There are many designs that have finctionality but are not very pretty. •Another good design that is not sublime are window blinds. There are versions of blinds that are meant to look better then regular blinds but still are nothing that stands out. •Floor vents are also very purposeful but are not very pleasing to the eye.

Good design should serve for the function of the space although it does not always mean it will be sublime. While other designs are beautiful but not functional. Good design can be subjective but to me a successful design is a functional design that makes the users happy.
